Golden Gardens Trail

"Golden Gardens Trail" is an oil painting done 'en plein air', on site, at the location. This was painted at Golden Gardens Pond near Eugene, Oregon on an August day. It was an active location. Many people came by on the trail that day, jogging, strolling with toddlers, or on their way to go fishing. The rich colors and warm air belied the often gray clouds that rolled by in the clear, blue sky. I always try to add a pinch of the soil from a location into the paint to anchor it in that place.
